Classes are taught by experienced scholar-practitioners who work in the field of psychology, bringing relevant insights to the classroom, and providing guidance for exploring career options. Many classes within the program are also offered fully online for additional flexibility. Upon graduation, students are equipped with knowledge and skills necessary to better understand and impact the diverse communities they choose to serve.
Graduated students are eligible to apply for an intern status with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in California, or Associate MFT/Counselor status with the Board of Health in Washington. Practicing outside of the state where the Brandman degree is earned will require the student to learn the specific licensing requirements for that state.
Brandman University offers three emphases and a combined emphasis as part of the MA Psychology degree. The emphasis areas include:

The MFT program explores the interpersonal interactive systems and patterns of relationships.
Professional Clinical Counseling (California only)
The PCC emphasizes clinical areas such as crisis, trauma, and career counseling.
Combined Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling (California only)
Students in California have the option to combine the MFT and PCC emphasis areas.
Counseling (Washington only)
